A Little Yelton History

Hello! My name is Ashley Yelton and I am the Visual Arts teacher at Grassland Middle School in Franklin, Tennessee. I completed my M.S. in Teacher Education with a concentration in Art Education from The University of Tennessee in May 2006. My Tennessee teaching certification is in the Visual Arts (K-12).

I grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, a not so small town nestled in Williamson County, that continues to grow and change rapidly. I attended Franklin High School and was a member of the Dance Team, Junior Varsity and Varsity Softball Teams, and the National Honor Society.
During my years at The University of Tennessee, I continued my passion for dance and the visual arts. From 2000-2005 I was a member of The University of Tennessee Dance Company, and obtained my B.F.A. in Studio Art: Ceramics & Art Education in May 2005.

On June 10, 2006, I was married to a wonderful man, and my last name changed from Gleason to Yelton. We have had a wonderful seven years of marriage together and look forward to many more. We have two children and two Dachshunds named, Piper and Harrison.

I hope that you will find this website very informative about what is important to me in teaching art and the experiences I have had thus far. Enjoy my website!
